basic mush commands

For anyone completely new to MU* (or new to MUSHing, but not MUDs) here are a few really basic commands to help you find your way around and be able to communicate.

Talking outloud:

say I don't have a clue!
<your name) says, "I don't have a clue!"

:doesn't have a clue!
<your name> doesn't have a clue!

Paging:

A page is a private message sent to someone that doesn't have to be in the same location as you, and that only you and they can see.

page <Bob>=I don't have a clue!
You paged Bob with "I don't have a clue!"

page <Bob>=: doesn't have a clue!
Long distance to <Bob>: <Your name> doesn't have a clue!

To add more recipients, simply add their names before the = sign, separated by a space.

page Mike and Bob= I'm rubbish!
You paged Mike and Bob with "I'm rubbish!

Channels:

Channels are a way for players to have a multi-person conversation without having to be in the same room. Channels are considered OOC.

First you must join a channel. To do this type:

@chan/join public
You join channel Newbie

To talk on a channel, type a + (shift and equals), then the name of your channel, then your message:

+n Hey, everyone!
<Newbie> Bob says "Hey, everyone!"

+n ;hopes not to annoy anyone.
<Newbie> Bob hopes not to annoy anyone.

Other commands.

Occasionally people may ask you to follow them or you may want people to follow you. To follow someone type:

follow <Bob>
You now follow <Bob>

unfollow <Bob>
You stop following <Bob>

dis
You dismiss all your followers.
