Four Simple Steps to Building:
1. Dig.
2. Open.
3. Parent.
4. Describe.
In A Little More Detail:
@dig <Room Name> - Creates a room of the name you specify. Does not take you to the room you have made. Note the dbref of the new room.
From the room you were in when you typed "@dig":
@open <New Room Name> «Abbreviation»;alias;alias;alias=#<dbref new room>,<Room you are in> «Abbreviation»;alias;alias;alias
For example:
You are standing in "The Kitchen" and wish to open a room called "The Pantry".
@dig The Pantry
Game: The Pantry created with room number 93.
@open The Pantry <TP>;tp;pan;pant;pantry=#93, The Kitchen <TK>; kit;kitch;kitchen
Game: Opened exit #94
Trying to link…
Linked exit #94 to #93
Opened exit #95
Trying to link…
Linked exit #95 to #91
#90 = Kitchen (Room)
#93 = The Pantry (Room)
#94 = Exit FROM Kitchen TO Pantry
#95 = Exit FROM Pantry TO Kitchen
(#91 and #92 will most likely be exits joining Kitchen to another room)
When you @nuke one @open number, the other will be destroyed; they must exit in pairs (? Check with Mike)
Enter new room.
@parent here=#<dbref template room> (See: http://connovar.wikidot.com/room-directory for more info)
@desc me=<Add description>
Look at the room when you think it is finished; check for grammar and typos, format, layout and exits.
Done!
